Architects symposium & fair in Nepal

In November 2006 an Architectural Symposium was organized by S.K. Shrestha, our local distributor in Katmandu. The interest was high, as 82 of the 90 invited architects attended. Albert-Johannes Schomburg gave a presentation featuring solutions for building restoration and waterproofing, followed by an interactive question and answer session. After the conclusion of the symposium, the “Interior Exterior Expo” trade show took place in Nepal. SCHOMBURG exhibited the AQUAFIN system approach for building construction.

Inauguration of new production and warehousing facility in Slovakia

When building permits were granted in July 2005, the construction of a new production and warehousing facility became a reality for the countries of the AQUAFIN-SOE Group (South-East Europe) on a green meadow in Bratislava (Slovakia). On May 12, 2006 the facility was officially opened in the company of Albert Schomburg (President), Jitka Tietjen (Manager of South-East Europe) and approx. 100 other employees and guests. After 12 years of activity in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, a new era of SCHOMBURG in South-east Europe began with the inauguration of the new production and warehousing facility as well as its establishment in the local market.

BAU 2007 in Munich – a visit worth making

A visit to the BAU2007 in Munich, the world’s largest trade fair for the construction materials market, was well worth it for all those involved. Exhibitors such as SCHOMBURG GmbH, as well as the many visitors to our stand. Over 500 visitors came to the SCHOMBURG stand from the construction market including building materials distributors, applicators, architects and engineers. In 2007 the BAU set a new attendance record for its 40+ year history with 209,000 visitors over 6 days. Many international visitors also attended the BAU 2007. A total of 36,000 international representatives were at the show, an increase of over 20% to last years figures, providing SCHOMBURG the opportunity to extend our name into the worldwide market.

Not New York but Detmold...

Not saffron, but red and not a tribute to Christos "The Gates", but simply one of eight exhibits at the “Kultur-Weg” 2006, in Detmold. Just by coincidence, SCHOMBURG celebrate 40 Years of AQUAFIN, at the same time as West German Broadcast (WDR) Network celebrated its Golden Anniversary. The University of Applied Sciences in Detmold, as culture partner of the WDR, undertook the task of creating an exhibition for the anniversary celebration with a cultural theme. We gladly supported the University with their task. From the imaginations of 2 architecture students, Mariola Garthof and Helene Penner, came the 50 red flags which fluttered in the breeze over Detmold for four months. This unique experience was enjoyed by all, not just the "Schomburgers."
